Bargaining Updates:

During our previous bargaining session, the City proposed a 2% wage increase in year one and another 2% in year two.
At our most recent meeting on June 5, we countered with a 7% increase in year one and a wage reopener for year two. While the Local typically avoids wage reopeners, the pending property tax constitutional amendment—and the potential for significant revenue reductions for cities statewide—makes this a prudent approach. We want to ensure members are protected should the financial landscape shift dramatically.
Our next bargaining session with the City is scheduled for June 12th at 9 a.m. in the Fire Training Room, 1716 N Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL 33765. We encourage all members to attend, support your bargaining team, and demonstrate to City leadership that you deserve more than the minimal raises currently on the table. We expect the City to present a counterproposal on wages at this meeting.
